Lice

Community Consolidated School District 62 follows the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and the IL Department of Public Health regarding head lice.

According to the CDC, head lice can be a nuisance, but they do not carry disease and are not a health concern. 

Students will not be excluded from school due to head lice. To protect the privacy of all students, classroom notifications are not sent, but parents of students with suspected lice will be contacted individually and assisted as needed. Additional information, including recommended treatment and prevention, is available in the health offices.
