Communicable / Contagious and Chronic Infectious Diseases
The school will observe recommendations of the Illinois Department of Public Health regarding communicable diseases.
In certain cases, students with a communicable disease may be excluded from school or sent home. Additionally, students with any concerning skin lesions, markings or sores may be excluded. Please notify your child’s school immediately if your student is displaying symptoms of or has been diagnosed with a communicable contagious disease, such as chicken pox, strep throat, mumps, etc. A student with or carrying a communicable and/or chronic infectious disease has all the rights, privileges, and services provided by law and the School Board’s policies. The Superintendent or designee will develop procedures to safeguard these rights while managing health and safety concerns.
