This week students started a fundraising event to collect for the Rizzo Foundation.
The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation was founded by former Chicago Cubs and current New York Yankees player Anthony Rizzo.
The foundation raises money for cancer research. They also provide support to children and their families battling the disease.
During lunch this week, students could purchase raffle tickets for donated prizes at a table outside the lunchroom.
Prizes ranged from a trip to Enchanted Castle, a McDonald's lunch with Principal Allar, a police car ride to and from school, and an autographed photo of Anthony Rizzo.
Students were very excited to donate to the cause and stopped by the table daily to see which prize had the most raffle tickets.
It is a fun way for the students to connect with each other, while raising money for a great cause.
The fundraiser will conclude on Friday, September 22 with the Rizzo Walk at North School.
