Children's Author Stops by ICS

Children's Author Stops by ICS
Iroquois

Iroquois Community School welcomed Chicago-based children's author Allan Woodrow for a visit on February 22.

Woodrow spent time talking to second through sixth grade students about his career as an author and discussed all of the books he has written.

He has written more than thirty books for children, including Class Dismissed, The Pet War, Field Tripped, Unschooled, and The Rotten Adventures of Zachary Ruthless.

Woodrow told the students about his love of writing from an early age, starting with the first book he ever wrote, and how he overcame doubts to follow his dream to become a writer.

He also discussed with students the importance of reading and revision.

Students had the chance to purchase his books that morning, and he autographed them, too!

It was a fun visit for all who attended!

The visit was made possible by a generous grant from the D62 Education Foundation
