On Thursday, July 16, District 62 administrators and Iroquois Community School staff members welcomed back the school's first through eighth-grade students!

This year also marked an exciting milestone, as kindergarten students started on the very same day to launch the school's new full-day kindergarten program.

The youngest wolves started their morning by playing with Play-Doh at their tables and making new friends.

They enjoyed showing their new friends what they could create.

Meanwhile, in art class, fifth-grade students were the first to experience the brand-new art room.

Mrs. Arnold began by showing everyone where supplies are located and reviewing classroom expectations.

Students then got straight to work creating self-portraits.

First sketching them in pencil, outlining them with black Sharpies, and finally shading them in with colored pencils.

Looking ahead, Iroquois students, staff, and families are invited to participate in the annual Back-to-School Bash on July 30 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (with a rain date scheduled for August 6).
