Members of the D62 Education Foundation had a fun time visiting different schools throughout the district and surprising staff members with grants they had applied for earlier in the school year.
The foundation awarded a total of 67 grants totaling more than $48,000 for the 2023-2024 school year.
The grants will fund field trips, author visits, literacy nights, sporting and musical equipment and support various clubs throughout the schools.
The grant money directly benefits the students in the school district with opportunities they might not otherwise have.
The money is raised through different fundraising events over the school year, including the annual foundation trivia night, which will be coming up in February.
