Fourth grader Riley Anderson took third place, fourth grader Sienna Chapman took second place and first place went to fourth grader Guadalupe Gomez-Zepeda!
Gomez-Zepeda was also named the overall Illinois poster contest winner, taking first place in the state!
The theme for the Des Plaines Optimist Poster Contest this year was "Exercise for Life: Be Healthier."
Every year the Illinois District sponsors a poster contest for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders who submit original posters to their local club.
The Optimist Club is dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" by providing positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to the youth.
