On the evening of Thursday, August 8, the English Language (EL) Department held a newcomer family event.
The event was intended to support families new to the country.
The EL Department's goal is to help them with their acclimation to the D62 learning community.
They were provided information in their native language about the school day and what to expect here in the United States to ensure a successful year.
Families also had time to connect over pizza and snacks.
The families and their students left with backpacks full of school supplies, books and many other items.
