On Friday, August 16, more than 900 D62 staff members gathered together in the Algonquin Middle School gymnasium to kick off the 2024-2025 school year!
This was the first time since 2019 that the entire District 62 staff gathered under one roof to celebrate and anticipate the start of an exciting school year.
The morning kicked off with a few words from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Amadei.
The district then welcomed Mr. Jimmy Casas, a school leader for more than two decades, as the keynote speaker. Mr. Casas is a best-selling author, speaker and leadership coach, as well as a state and national award-winning principal.
Before departing to their various schools for the afternoon, the staff were treated to a lunch from Organic Life, the district's new food service.
