Astronomy Night at AMS
Algonquin Middle School hosted its annual Family Astronomy Night on October 24.
Teacher and event organizer, Sarah Murphy, said it was the school's 10th year hosting the event in partnership with the Northwest Suburban Astronomers.
Students and their families spent the evening participating in various astronomical activities.
They had the chance to look through telescopes, create astronomy crafts and participate in STEM design challenges.
Those in attendance also learned about the unique art of astrophotography.
Maine West students were also on hand to offer information on the high school's science club and science courses offered at the school.
The Des Plaines Public Library was at the event, showcasing the science materials and kits they have available to check out.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the event and to all who worked so hard in making this event possible!
