On the afternoon of Monday, April 8, students throughout District 62 had the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the solar eclipse firsthand.
Students enjoyed watching the phases of the eclipse from 1:45pm to 2:15pm, with 92% totality at 2:07pm.
They did a great job following all safety rules and wearing their glasses.
All staff, including district administrators, took a break from their work to witness the solar eclipse.
Parents and neighbors throughout Des Plaines were also out enjoying the views and the warmth of the sun.
Everyone was happy to have perfect weather for this memorable event!
