Twenty-seven District 62 middle school students were recognized at the May 20 Board of Education Meeting as part of the Middle School Students You Should Know recognition program.
The three 6th graders, six 7th graders and eighteen 8th graders were nominated by their middle school teachers and principals.
Students from Algonquin Middle School, Chippewa Middle School and Iroquois Community School were recognized in nine different categories.
The categories included Academic Excellence, Enthusiastic Learner, Exceptional Service to School and Community, Leadership Qualities, Outstanding Character, Peer Mentor, Positive Attitude, Behavior and Effort, Positive Role Model and Positive School Spirit and Good Sportsmanship.
