The kindergarten students in Ms. Wapniarski's class were excited to talk about their senses as they went over what they could taste and hear.

The students sat on the carpet as she asked them to raise their hands and share their favorite foods with the class.

As they spoke, she wrote their answers on the board next to the sense of taste.

They then talked about what they hear when they are outside or inside. Some of the students said they hear trucks, birds, and people outside.

After going over some of the senses for the day, they had a body break. Ms. Wapniarski played a video to get the students moving in place.

They then went to their tables and were given a sheet to draw their favorite thing about school so far. When they were done drawing, they tried to spell what it was by sounding out letters.

Ms. Wapniarski helped them spell words if they needed assistance or if a word was too long.

Then, they colored their drawings. If they finished early, they could color a picture on the back of a pigeon from a book they had read the day before, or they worked on writing their names until the lesson ended.

The students enjoyed connecting with their peers while working on their drawings.
