Out of all of the students in Illinois, Cumberland Elementary School Fifth Grader Isabella Greco was selected as the state's AAA Safety Patroller of the Year!

Each year, AAA invites Illinois schools to nominate their top student safety patroller for recognition.

It was Isabella's impressive resume and essay describing her service as patroller that set her above the rest.

In January Isabella was also nominated by teachers to be Cumberland's "Patroller of the Month."

The teachers who nominated her for this honor described Isabella as being a consistent role model and taking initiative to support students in the Cumberland community.

In March Isabella was recognized by AAA at the Chicago Wolves game and was invited to ride the Zamboni between periods.

Fifth Grade Teachers Ms. Christina Sweeney and Mr. Richard McKelvey would like to recognize and thank all of the 2024-2025 Cumberland patrollers.

The Cumberland "Patrollers of the Month" this school year were: Tessia K., Tim G., David S., Camille B., Daniela S. and Evelyn T.

Sweeney and McKelvey would also like to acknowledge the Cumberland patrollers who submitted essays for consideration of the AAA honor: Kaya R., Camille B., Paige M., Victoria S. and Jeffin J.

"We are proud of our students' leadership and look forward to the next generation of Cumberland safety patrollers," Sweeney said.
