Jumping Jack Math Experiment
Students in Ms. Erin Purdue's math class participated in a jumping jack experiment recently.
The students started the activity by working together with their desk partners and dividing up into different roles.
One student was the jumper, one was the counter, one was the recorder and the fourth person kept time.
Each of the groups did this over a period of two minutes.
After all of the students in each of the groups had a chance to do jumping jacks, the students compiled the data and created a table out of the information.
Once the students were done creating the table, they made a graph displaying the different variables and patterns of their physical activity.
The math lesson was a fun way to learn about graphs and tables while getting in some physical activity.
