AMS Students Celebrate Reading More Than 1,000 Books!
Algonquin
Earlier this month Algonquin Middle School celebrated the end of the Thunder Reading Challenge, the school's program to encourage reading during the school year.
Organized by the AMS reading committee, the pizza party recognized students who read 5, 10, 20, or 30 books with t-shirts, small notebooks and other prizes.
More than 40 students attended the party and almost 60 qualified. Together students read over 1,000 books!
Reading Specialist Susan Marks said the staff is so proud of the students and that they are so grateful to the D62 Education Foundation for sponsoring the reading challenge.
