Algonquin
We held grade level assemblies on October 25, as part of our PBIS program.
This is the fourth year of our PBIS program here at AMS.
The purpose of this program was to increase the positive recognitions and rewards for our hard working students.
The program is multi-faceted: students can earn ThunderBucks every day for demonstrating characteristics that we are looking for in our students: hard work, kindness, persistence, participation and more.
Students can redeem those weekly for numerous different rewards and items.
In addition, we have two events every single quarter for all students. They are fun, celebration events, ranging from different activities, whole school, assemblies, and more.
It is well worth giving up the classroom time to make sure we recognize the hard work of our students, and to simply have fun together as a community.
We would like to recognize our parent, teacher organization, as they are instrumental in our PBIS program.
Students and teachers competed together and against each other in various games, such as Basketball Shootout, Bozo Buckets and a Paper Airplane Contest.
