The Community Backpack Project (CBP) is an outreach program of the Self-Help Closet & Pantry of Des Plaines.
Elementary and middle school students attending Des Plaines School District 62 can take home a weekly backpack full of food to last through the weekend during the school year.
If your child receives free or reduced meals at school and is not yet a part of the CBP, please talk with your school social work how to sign up. The program is free!
The Self Help Closet is alway looking for volunteers, donors, and donations of both monetary and shelf-stable foods. For more information, please visit their website at https://sites.google.com/view/
