Our district and its schools are the centers of the community. As such, the district believes that community engagement and collaboration between our staff, parents and residents are pivotal to the success of our students.
Annual Report
District 62 has maintained financial recognition status by the Illinois State Board of Education for the last 17 years. Financial recognition is the highest designation for a school district to receive.
I am very excited about our future here in District 62. We are focused on several key initiatives that are centered around supporting children with their academic as well as social emotional needs. Our team is also very focused on enhancing our safety measures in the district.

District News Highlights
Central Elementary School celebrated their second annual cultural night.

South Elementary School fourth graders in Mr. Michael O'Donnell's Physical Education class took advantage of the warm weather and played a few games outside on the blacktop.

Plainfield Elementary School fifth graders in Mr. Ward's art class had fun working on a sun and moon project, using both cool and warm colors to create their masterpiece.

Chippewa Middle School's Mural Mosaic Club is hard at work completing the amazing mosaic project they started last school year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to eat pizza and vote on their favorite slice at the D62 Education Foundation's 2nd Annual Pizza Wars!

Crochet Club is a biweekly recess club for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at North Elementary School.

Cumberland Elementary School Occupational Therapist, Ms. Samantha Asher worked with two students in Ms. Megan Hennelly's ELS class.

Early Learning Center students in Ms. Jennifer Jennings class began their day tracing different shapes on a piece of paper with Mr. Narci Martinez.

The Forest Newspaper Club, made up of students in grades third through fifth, meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Kindergarteners and fourth graders at Orchard Place Elementary School have "buddied up" as a way to learn from one another and celebrate each other!

The district has a volunteer program in place designed to strengthen partnerships between schools and our communities while preserving and enhancing educational opportunities for all students within the school district.
Celebrate 62
We were very happy to showcase the artwork that is on proud display at our Administration Center which we have now termed “Celebrate 62”.
NewsBits
A quarterly electronic newsletter that highlights the latest happenings in Community Consolidated School District 62.
Winter Card Contest
Over 30 entries were submitted this year.
All entries will be on display at the Des Plaines Public Library through the month of December.
The winning design will become District 62’s official winter card that will be mailed out next month to the community.
