New Student Enrollment

District 62 requires all families to prove residency in order to enroll. 

The procedure requires families to provide three (3) documents showing that they live at the address provided for enrollment. All documents must show name and address.

While online registration has been open since February of 2023, it will still be necessary for families to verify residency demonstrating that they reside within district boundaries as of the first day of school and intend to remain in the district for the entirety of the 2023-2024 school year.

The District may investigate residency status, including through a home visit and additional documentation before allowing enrollment.

Enrollment is not complete until residency is confirmed.

If a student’s change of residence is due to the military service obligation of the person with legal custody of a student (with a written request from this person), he/she can maintain his/her residency as determined prior to the military obligation

All children transferring into district schools must have an official transfer form indicating whether or not they are “in good standing” and whether or not their medical records are up to date.

All transfer students serving terms of suspension or expulsion from any public or private Illinois or out-of-state schools must serve the entire duration of the suspension or expulsion prior to enrollment.

A health certificate, including an immunization history completed by the primary health care provider, needs to be submitted to the school office by every Pre-K, K, and 6th grade student in addition to all students who are new to the school district unless the parent provides an acceptable medical or religious objection.

Failure to produce this health certificate will result in the student being excluded from school.

Students entering K, 2, and 6 must present proof of having been examined by a licensed dentist before May 15 of the current school year.

Parents and/or guardians of students entering kindergarten or an Illinois school for the first time shall present proof before the first full day of school of the current school year that the student received an eye examination within one year prior to entry of kindergarten or the school.
