Professional Development

Join a community of lifelong learners. Register for U62 professional development classes!

Lifelong learners help create students who embrace learning, exploring, and serving. Research shows that an inspiring and informed teacher is the most important school-related factor influencing student achievement. Therefore, continuing education is crucial for all teachers. Discover new ways of teaching students fundamental math, science, and reading skills, as well as updates to school law and hands-on technology applications.

U62 classes and instructors provide ongoing professional development that will keep you up-to-date on new research on how children learn, emerging technology tools for the classroom, new curriculum resources, and more. Refresh your skills. Network with others. Join discussion forums that focus on trends and techniques you may not have known about before.

Register, now. Attending U62 classes creates stronger and well-informed teachers, which benefits students for a lifetime.

6+1 Traits of Writing at the Middle School – 520, Session 1In this course, participants will review the language of the traits, how to introduce them to students, and how to teach and assess with the traits. Participants will leave with ready-to-go lessons for each trait to take back to their classroom, as well as how the traits work with District 62's Writing Instruction Model. This class is intended for those teachers who did not attend PD Mondays with the LA/Lit. Department. Participants should bring a few of their students' samples of writing.
