Technology Overview
Community Consolidated School District 62 information systems consist of:
Approximately 2,200 Apple Macintosh desktop and laptop computers running Mac OS X. Models consist primarily of iMac, eMac, and iBook with Intel Core 2 Duo, and G3 and G4 processors.
Approximately 50 servers including file servers, web servers, and administrative systems running Mac OS X Server, Windows 2003 Server, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange and Linux Red Hat. Datacenter consists primarily of Apple Xserves.
Six database servers running FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Pro Server, FileMaker Pro Server Advanced.
Wide Area Network (AT&T Opt-e-Man) connects 13 district buildings (11 schools, 1 administration center, and 1 maintenance building).
Local Area Networks (fiber optic backbone) in each of eleven district schools.
Wireless networks in each of 13 district buildings running on Apple AirPort and Airport Extreme dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi.
