D62 Migrates Parent/Staff Notification System – Over the past several years School District 62 has used AlertNow as its mass notification/emergency notification service. Three years ago, AlertNow was purchased by Blackboard Connect. During the past year, Blackboard Connect has transitioned its AlertNow clients to a new system-Connect 5.
District 62 will officially make the switch to Connect 5 on Monday, July 1, 2013. The first message you will receive from School District 62 utilizing Connect 5 will be on that date at approximately 7:15 PM. This will only be a test message. It will be sent via phone and email.
D62 parents and employees should only notice improved service with Connect 5, which offers additional features. Much like AlertNow, Connect 5 allows the District to use voice and email messaging. The District will continue to offer text messaging and social media tools to share messages with parents and employees.
Parents should contact their child’s school if their contact phone numbers or email addresses change. Staff should contact the District 62 Human Resources Department to update contact information. Questions may also be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
