Early Chidhood Special Needs Program
District 62’s early childhood special needs preschool is a non-categorical half-day program, which provides a developmentally appropriate classroom for children with moderate to severe developmental delays. These delays may occur in the language, social/emotional, gross motor, fine motor or school readiness areas. Services to support the child’s educational program may include: assistive technology, occupational and physical therapy, school nursing, school psychology, social work, speech and language therapy, and vision services.
Developmental screenings and evaluations for children ages 3-5 (who have not yet started kindergarten) are completed through Maine Township Special Education Program’s Early Childhood Center.
If your child is younger than 3 and you have concerns about his/her development, you can call Child & Family Connections #6 at 847-385-5070 for a free developmental assessment.
