Learning Links Interactive Family Center

We offer a variety of programs that link parent and child, school and home, and literacy and play. Learning Links is a family centered, literacy rich environment offering a variety of literacy experiences and materials that can be checked out for use at home. Learning Links offers the following: Baby Links-Bags filled with materials to enrich play with newborns and babies up to 1 year in age. Toddler Totes-Mini backpacks loaded with books and activities to stimulate the toddler's interest. Literacy Boxes- There are over 200 literacy boxes that are geared for students through second grade. These kits contain books, games, puzzles, toys, and crafts along with directions and learning areas addressed in both English and Spanish. These activities are designed to both enhance learning and provide an excellent opportunity for parent/child interaction. Book-erangs- Parent/child activity packs based on quality children's literature. These packs include a parent section with the information directed toward enhancing their child's reading skills. There is also a "Parent and Kid corner" suggesting fun activities for the family with a comprehensive guide as they enjoy the activities together. Kid Interactive Thematic Stations (K.I.T.S. for KIDS)- exciting interactive stations created through collaborative efforts of the before and after school staff through the district for grade school students. The kits provide stimulating activities, games projects, and books. The experiences will serve to enhance social, scientific, cultural, and literacy development.
