Mission
South School’s Mission is to empower students with the necessary lifelong skills to learn, work, live, and play as contributing members in a democratic society. We believe that: - Students are entitled to a quality education in a safe, clean and peaceful environment where diversity is respected;
- The learning process should provide interesting, challenging, and relevant curricula with a focus on basic skills, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and language development;
- The development of interpersonal skills is vital to student growth;
- Students, parents, staff and the community are essential partners in the education of children;
- Students’ individual learning needs must be met in order to help them grow to their fullest potential;
- Students must be active participants in the learning process; and
- Ongoing assessment provides the information needed to plan and deliver relevant curriculum to meet students’ academic needs.
