Message from the President of the Board of Education

Stephanie Duckmann, President of Board of Education

Thank you for taking time to visit our website and learn more about District 62. This district is made up of a dedicated staff who work relentlessly to support all students. Everyday.

Our Board of Education is excited to welcome our new Superintendent of Schools Dr. Floyd E. Williams, Jr. to the district. Over the last few months, Dr. Williams has spent a great deal of time in each of the schools, visiting our buildings and meeting families and students. His work has just begun and we are excited to see the innovations that Dr. Williams and his team will bring forth to the district.

This August, the Board of Education formally approved its three-year goals for the district. These goals focus on four main areas:

  • Student outcomes
  • Safe, supportive and caring learning environments
  • Efficient and effective management of financial resources
  • Enhanced communications and engagement with stakeholders

The three-year goals can be found here.

The one constant in our life is change. And yet despite change, what remains the same in District 62 is the fact that we continue to maintain dedicated, hard-working teachers and staff members, who genuinely care about the children of District 62. We have great facilities and innovative leaders to keep us moving forward. I am confident in our Board of Education and in our wonderful staff, both new and veteran, who will continue to help District 62 grow, stay ahead of the curve, and do what is right for our students.

The future of District 62 is bright. The Board of Education is excited to work with Dr. Williams to continue the district’s path of success. We support Dr. Williams and his vision and know that in return, he will always support the parents, students, staff and residents of District 62.
