D62 Hosts Digital Library Symposium – Recently, Dr. Westerhold hosted a myON reader symposium for school district administrators. In addition to Dr. Westerhold, Joanne Zienty, winner of the Soon to be Famous Illinois Author and Forest library media specialist, welcomed attendees and shared her literacy story. Kim Walsh, myON reader account manager, facilitated the event. myON reader is a personalized literacy environment that engages students at all reading levels by providing the largest integrated library of digital books. District 62 offers this literacy resource to PreK-5th grade students. The 3000+ enhanced digital books include reading supports, and are recommended to students based on individual interests and reading level using The Lexile Framework for Reading. Giving students the opportunity to choose what they want to read, in a digital environment in which they are comfortable, motivates them to become better and more confident readers.

  • ISBE - Public Information Broadcast Message 765 – The Illinois State Board of Education is distributing this information as requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently announced the addition of Eric Justin Toth, aka David Bussone, to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Toth, a former private school teacher and camp counselor, is being sought for his alleged production and possession of child pornography. The investigation into Toth began in June 2008, after pornographic imageswere found on a school camera that had been in his possession.

Despite being featured on multiple local news reports as well as the America's Most Wanted television program and the FBI website, Toth has eluded capture. Since June 2008, Toth is believed to have travelled to Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota. It is also believed that he lived in Arizona as recently as 2009.

Additional information regarding Eric Toth, including his wanted poster, is available on the FBI's internet home page at http://www.fbi.gov. Attached to this message is the wanted poster and the complete news release issued by the FBI on April 10.
