Plainfield Mission Statement
Plainfield School, as an intercultural community, has a mission to provide a nurturing
environment with teachers committed to excellence as a means of preparing its students for a life of learning.
Philosophy
It is the philosophy of Plainfield School that children learn best in an atmosphere conducive to learning. A solid foundation of basic education will be enhanced by avenues of learning that provide for each child’s individual differences, address special needs, and capitalize on his/her strengths to educate the whole child. Activity-based learning, thematic approaches, individualization, and cooperative learning will be utilized. We believe that we should motivate and inspire each child to become a contributing member of our community and a lifelong learner. Therefore, we will give every child at Plainfield School the opportunity to experience a comprehensive ele- mentary education.
