Our School District Mission:
to equip our students with the skills necessary for their success as responsible citizens, productive workers, and lifelong learners by providing the best possible educational climate, curriculum, resources, and staff.

La Misión de nuestro Distrito Escolar es proveer a los estudiantes con el mejor ambiente escolar, currículo, recursos, y personal para equiparlos con las destrezas necesarias para su éxito como ciudadanos responsables, trabajadores productivos,y aprendices de por vida.
School Mission Statement
The Mission of Orchard Place School is to prepare students to become independent lifelong learners. In order to achieve this end the Orchard Place School staff is dedicated to (giving, teaching, imparting) the strategies needed to identify, access and evaluate the information needed to make informed/wise decisions in both academic and social settings. Children are best prepared for the future when they develop a deep sense of belonging and learn to become active, thoughtful, and compassionate members of their various communities (classroom, school, neighborhood, cultural, national, world, etc.). This will enable them to become responsible citizens in a democratic society.
La Misión de Nuestra Escuela
La Misión de la Escuela Orchard Place es preparar a los estudiantes a convertirse en aprendices de por vida. Para poder lograr esto, el personal de la Escuela Orchard Place esta dedicado a (dar, enseñar, e impartir) las estrategias necesarias para identificar, accesar, y evaluar la información necesaria para tomar decisiones educadas tanto en los aspectos académicos como en los sociales. Los niños están mejor preparados para el futuro cuando ellos desarrollan un profundo sentimiento de pertenencia y aprenden a ser miembros activos, considerados, y compasivos de sus variadas comunidades (salón de clases, escuela, vecindario, cultura, nación, el mundo, etc.). Esto les dará la posibilidad de convertirse en ciudadanos responsables en una sociedad democrática.
At Orchard Place School we believe that:
- Children are best educated when there exists a collaborative and mutually supportive relationship between students, their families, the school system, and the community.
- Achieving high levels of literacy in reading, writing, and mathematics is the gateway to success for all content areas and society.
- Parents and schools have the responsibility to help children develop the capacity to live responsibly and judge wisely in matters of life and conduct.
- The staff and parents of Orchard Place School feel strongly that the education of positive character traits and virtues (independence and interdependence, perseverance, self-discipline, compassion, responsibility, honesty, respect, and generosity) are of paramount importance.
- Children are best served when they learn to value and respect their own cultural heritage and uniqueness as well as the cultural heritage and uniqueness of others. Children need to develop the ability to objectively analyze situations and problems through multiple viewpoints in order to gain a greater understanding of the world.
- Children need to develop a sense of optimism and understand that although they cannot always control their circumstances, they can choose the way in which they respond to their circumstances.
- Children need to develop the critical thinking skills in both the academic and social arenas that will enable them to make responsible and informed decisions. In order to do this, they need to learn to identify problems, brainstorm and evaluate solutions, and make appropriate choices.
En la Escuela Orchard Place creemos que:
- Los niños se educan mejor cuando existe una relación colaborativa y de mutuo apoyo entre los estudiantes, sus familias, el sistema escolar, y la comunidad.
- Alcanzar altos niveles de alfabetismos en lectura, escritura, y matemáticas son el portal al éxito para todas las áreas de contenido y la sociedad.
- Los padres y la escuela tienen la responsabilidad de ayudar a los niños a desarrollar la capacidad de vivir responsablemente y de juzgar con sabiduría los aspectos de la vida y conducta.
- El personal y los padres de la Escuela de Orchard Place creen grandemente que la educación de caracteres positivos y virtudes (independencia, interdependencia, perseverancia, auto-disciplina, responsabilidad, honestidad, respeto, y generosidad) son de suma importancia.
- A los niños se les sirve mejor cuando aprenden a valorar y respetar su propia herencia cultural y su singularidad tanto como la herencia cultural y la singularidad de otros.
- Los niños necesitan desarrollar la habilidad de analizar objetivamente situaciones y problemas a través de múltiples puntos de vista para poder obtener mejor entendimiento del mundo.
- Los niños necesitan desarrollar optimismo y entender que aunque ellos no siempre pueden cambiar sus circunstancias, ellos pueden escoger como deciden responder a esas circunstancias.
- Los niños necesitan desarrollar las destrezas de pensamiento crítico tanto en las áreas académicas como en las sociales para permitirles tomar decisiones informadas y responsables. Para lograr esto, los niños necesitan aprender a identificar problemas, pensar y evaluar soluciones, y tomar decisiones apropiadas.
