Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
The mission of the staff of North School is to create a safe and nurturing environment, which provides each child the opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential. This is done through partnerships with parents and community.
The North School PTO is an important partner in providing resources and programs that extend opportunities to students and families. They also serve as an advisory committee to the principal.
North School's PTO Family Night
Books, ice cream, and ornaments were the special ingredients for North School’s PTO Family Night on Thursday, November 13, 2008. When everyone first arrived they visited the auditorium where the Scholastic Book Fair highlighted hundreds of wonderful books plus posters, unique pens, funny erasers and a variety of other items. Next stop was the gymnasium for a bowl of ice cream. You could pick your own toppings so you enjoyed it just the way you wanted. Then to the art tables to make your own pre-designed ornament. All completed ornaments will be placed on North School’s Holiday Tree inMetropolitan Square in downtown Des Plaines. After mixing these wonderful ingredients, the evening was a huge success.
