North School Math and Science Night

Family Math & Science Night this year had a cultural theme. Historical math games from around the world were the highlight. The science included designing and making your own balloon car for a race at the end of the evening and creating a marble track where the slowest time wins!

Jessica Yepez, “Wow! I was amazed when I walked into the gym for Math & Science Night! All the games and activities there were! Once I saw the supplies for making the balloon car, I just rushed there to make one. There was cardboard for a marble race and lots of math games. I think I joined every single game and activity. “I had so much fun, especially when the race started even though my car didn’t drive, I still had fun.”

Rhys Bakulinski says, “At Math & Science Night I had a lot of fun playing 9 Men’s Morris, & Magic Number Tic Tac Toe. When I made my balloon car, it did not move, but it was a fun experience.”

Zeba Chaus says, ”Math & Science Night was a lot of fun. Making the balloon cars and playing all the games like Tapatan and Lulu were cool. Marble Mania was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time. I also made things at the Creation Station. Everything was awesome!

Wheels, Inc. Picnic

On May 11th North School students and staff where treated to a picnic sponsored by the North School community sponsor, Wheels Inc. 5th grade student Falak Mirza reports:

We were provided with all kinds of delicious food from cheeseburgers to hamburgers to vegieburgers to chicken and riblettes, to an excellent salad with dressing choices. The best part was the dessert. They had chocolate brownies, assorted cookies and juicy watermelon.

After we ate we got to play cool games like golf, beanbag toss and tic tac toe. If we did not want to do that we got to watch a cool professional juggler or chill out to awesome music that musicians were playing. All that was needed was to sit on grass with your friends and talk or listen to the music. Everyone at North School had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you Wheels’ employees for a marvelous time.

North School Open House

On April 18th North School hosted the annual Open House. It was an Author's Night.

Students shared their stories with their families. They had prepared manuscripts, books, stories and written reader's theater pieces. Many of the rooms featured "Author Chairs" and students read their writing pieces to classmates and family members. The PTO sponsored one of two annual book fairs.
