District 62 Seeks Senior Volunteers
Helping a child perfect their literacy skills is a joy shared by parents, teachers, family, and friends.
One hour a week of your time could open up a world of learning for a child who needs to strengthen skills in reading.
School District 62 is seeking additional volunteers for the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring program. Volunteer opportunities are available at Central, South, and Plainfield Elementary Schools.
OASIS tutors, who are typically age 50+, work one-on-one with children in grades kindergarten through four throughout the school year using a curriculum designed to build reading and language skills. This extra help and attention also increases the child's self-esteem and fosters a positive attitude toward learning.
To reserve your space at the training or to find out more about becoming an OASIS volunteer email wardm@d62.org or call 847-824-8070.
Give a child the gift of time and reading. Become an OASIS volunteer in School District 62.
