Algonquin Assistant Principal Named

DES PLAINES, IL – Dr. Jennifer Rosenzweig has been named the assistant principal of Algonquin Middle School in School District 62. Her appointment was unanimously approved at the July 15 Board of Education meeting.

Rosenzweig served as the head dean of students at Larkin High School in School District U-46 in Elgin, IL. She held that post since 2009. Rosenzweig began her career in education as a Spanish/French teacher in Community Consolidated School District 21 in Wheeling, IL. She also taught Spanish at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.

Rosenzweig earned a doctorate degree in educational leadership from National-Louis University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from North Park College, and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She was a member of Spanish National Honors and Criminal Justice Societies.

Rosenzweig assumes the assistant principal position immediately. She replaces Joanne Dimitriou who accepted a position in North Shore School District 112.

Des Plaines School District 62 educates more than 4,990 students in eleven schools and employs more than 770 employees.
