Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
This year’s Kindergarten class and I share something in common as I begin my tenure with
District 62. Just as your children are becoming acquainted with their new school, I will be
working hard to become acquainted with the students, staff and families. It is an adventure
I am happy to share with your children.
As an aside, this past school year, my son began Kindergarten. I enjoyed seeing the experiences
through his eyes, as I believe Kindergarten marks the pathway for a child’s education.
The purpose of this handbook is to serve as a resource to parents as your child begins his or her
educational journey with us. Please take a moment to review it, as the information contained
will be helpful for both students and families.
Our staff is working hard to provide enriching experiences in the classroom that will help your
child’s development in the areas of social, physical, emotional and academic wellbeing.
We look forward to working together as partners to support your child’s education. Maintaining
an open line of communication with your child’s teacher is a critical component to providing
your child with the best opportunities. We are excited to welcome this year’s Kindergarten class
to the district and wish you and your family an amazing school year.
