Food Drive Sets Record
A recent food drive sponsored by the Iroquois Community School Student Government Council set many records and helped the Des Plaines Self-Help Closet and Food Pantry. 2,635 food items were collected, which was a school record. Dr. Thomas Ray's sixth/seventh grade class collected the most cans.

Day of the Dead Celebrated
Students in Kimberly Cruz's 7th grade class made Pan de Muertos (bread of the dead) for a project in Spanish class. They learned about Los Días de Los Muertos, which is celebrated November 1 & 2. During this holiday, participants take time to honor and remember friends and family members who have passed away during the year. There are many traditions involved and one of them is to make Pan de Muertos. The bread is then placed on an ofrenda, which is an altar in their homes, as an offering. Students chose to make the bread and share it with their classmates.

Halloween Ball Brings Out the Best
The theme was spooky, but the evening was bright for every Iroquois Community School student, parent, and staff member who participated in the school’s annual Halloween Ball.

Raffles, pumpkin decorating and costume contests were a few of the events that made up a wonderful family night.
